Many issues can arise between divorcing/divorced couples. Examples of such issues include child support and spousal support. Disputes sometimes arise in regards to such issues. Sometimes, such disputes arise even after a divorce settlement has been reached.

This can be seen in a celebrity child support/spousal support matter that has recently arisen. The matter is from Connecticut. The matter involves the actor Brendan Fraser and his ex-wife. Fraser has starred in many films, including the "Mummy" film series, "Journey to the Center of the Earth," and "Looney Tunes: Back in Action."

Fraser and his ex-wife separated in 2007. In 2009, the former couple reached a divorce settlement.

The former couple has three children (all sons).

Under the terms of the former couple's divorce, Fraser is to make child support and spousal support payments to his ex-wife. Reportedly, the total amount of these payments is $900,000 annually.

Recently, Fraser has made a request to a court asking that the amount of these payments be reduced. Fraser claims that medical issues and a drying up of movie earnings have made it so he can't afford the payments at their current amount.

Meanwhile, Fraser's wife has leveled allegations of asset hiding against Fraser.

It will be interesting to see what ultimately happens in this case.

As this case illustrates, disputes sometimes arise between divorcing/divorced couples regarding things such as spousal support and child support. How divorce-related disputes are ultimately resolved can be very impactful on all of the parties involved. Thus, if a person is involved in a divorce-related dispute (such as a dispute regarding child support or spousal support), having a strong advocate on one's side can be very important.
