Recently, a somewhat unusual property division dispute has arisen. The dispute centers around something that probably doesn't typically come to mind when one thinks of property division in a divorce: shoes.

The case involves the professional poker player Beth Shak and her ex-husband.

According to Shak's ex-husband, Shak has a collection of 1,200 pairs of shoes that is worth around $1 million. Shak's ex-husband claims that Shak failed to disclose this shoe collection during their divorce and hid its existence from him. Reportedly, Shak's ex-husband is alleging that he is entitled to a portion of the shoe collection's value.

According to the Huffington Post article which reported this story, Shak's ex-husband has brought a lawsuit against Shak in connection to these allegations. It will be interesting to see what ultimately happens in this property division-related dispute.

While this case does concern a somewhat unusual subject matter, it illustrates an important point that is worth noting. This point is that many complicated issues can arise when it comes to property division.
